    I have used rubber caps that come on steering rack ends. Fit all sorts of threads (rack ends and barrel threads are very similar in size), made to protect threads (how about that eh), bright red or yellow usually, so you can't lose them or forget you have them on there, and most importantly: free. 2 of them will do pretty much any barrel thread you are likely to encounter. You could probably shoot through them too if you had to

    As above 90% of 22s are 1/2x20 the czs are for sure 1/2x20
    The only exception as far as im aware is rifles manufactured in the USA which are factory threaded may not be
    Alot of rifles are brought into New Zealand non threaded and threaded here ether by the agent or the shop before sale

    Some czs have a female thread on the inside of the barrel as to save the open sights from needing to be cut off these rifles require an adapter to change to a male 1/2x20
