    After speaking with someone who knows more than me I have to say that the 2 digit numbers on the bolt shroud and the safety lever are not the same as the serial # on all the other bits . I had been told that they never did .... but appartenly they should and did ... so I cant claim to have matching #'s

    I read that the safety's were a common battlefield breakage and repair. So not unusual it doesn't match.

    That is par for the course, and not an issue to most sane people. It's a nice rifle and I want it nearly as much as my missus wants me not to have it at the moment

    Absolutely beautiful rifle. It is a Brazil contract 1908 made by DWM. I have used many of these actions to build custom rifles in calibers 7x57, 6mm Rem, 6.5 x 55, .270, .25/06 and .257 Roberts. Please do not butcher such a great rifle for the action. This rifle is worth at least 1200 dollars.
