Why are you moving to an SUV out of curiosity? I'm in the prices of deciding between a ute and an SUV myself

    How many kids/pets/activities?
Size the SUV according to plans for family.
We've got an older Volvo XC90 (Pommy import), 2.4 diesel, 6 speed auto, computer AWD, heated leather seats, climate air, factory tow bar (removable), electric most stuff.
    Runs about 9.5l/100kms mixed town/country.
Greatly underrated vehicle and about 20%-30% cheaper than equivalent German SUV's, or can get a later model (all secondhand) for same money.
Servicing at a dealers is a bit steep, but have found a Euro car specialist in Masterton, that is quite a bit cheaper.
And he has the latest European brand service software for fault finding, setup, etc.
Really impressed with it, so dropped a Grand Vitara diesel and bought a Jap import V50 wagon as my runaround.
Put money in the bank too.
Don't know if the XC90 would be any good on bush tracks though it's OK on paddocks (road tyres), and goes about 2 Tonnes weight.

Im at an age when kids may be on the horizon, im not using the tray as much as I wanted to and the misses doesnt like driving it.
Im going to be moving into a Prado. haha no boat or sako included.
However, could throw in a 10/22 if needed.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Kids on the horizon for me too. Prado looks the goods, out of my price range for a decent one though.

    Nice ute mcche.

I had a Surf for many years, but replaced it with a LN111 extra cab ute. What I like best about the ute is all my dead animals and drums of herbicide are not in the vehicle with me!
