    20ga or 410 auto

Looking for a basic auto in 20Ga or 410 (not an AK based one), something like a Armsan, Weatherby or Stoeger, ideally with 26" barrel, needs to be a multi choke type, I think I'd prefer piston over inertia but could be convinced otherwise.

    Thanks

Hey thanks for that offer, man there are some good buggers on this forum. My cobber has a 20ga semi that I'm going to try in the next few days, then maybe I could try a pump . . . . I'm a complete shottie newb really so its all a bit of a learning curve!

20g gives you a bit more room for error than a 410. a poor fitting 20g will kick more than a 12g if you use heavy 20g rounds

I tried one of the turkish semi 20ga's a few years ago. What a sweetheart of a gun. Couldn't miss what I aimed at. Well worth consideration, especially if you find a well made one.

If you are looking at a lighter semi shotgun just make sure the 20g you are looking at is lighter than the 12 of the same model. A few of them are just adapted to suit the frame of the 12. If that's the case stick with the 12.
Otherwise if you do get a proper 20 it will be lighter and faster to swing/point etc and be a cracking little gun with way cheaper/more effective ammo than a 410.
This is remembering that you can get loads that will pretty much duplicate the 12g in performance so as @berg243 has posted in a lighter gun they will probably kick more.
If you were local I'd chuck you my 410 pump to try. Its a neat little gun. wish the ammo was cheaper

Have a 20g Mossberg auto, great little lightweight with marginal recoil with 23/4" loads.
