You might struggle to get someone to lend you a reamer for doing a Tikka barrel. They are hard on reamers, but you never know...

Burn out the current barrel then step into a 22-243ai on the rebarrel

Not every ai will pick up much speed over standard velocity and with tikka ms hard barrels there is a chance it will just eat the chamber and not cut clean.

Dont forget the 6mm284 as an option too. If you are wanting a long range varmint/hunting rifle the trajectory is pretty hard to beat!
    Just my 10c worth.
    Cheers

A very good 10c will be used for gong shoots and long range varmint work. It's to replace the creedmoor I had haha

A 6mm284 shooting heavier 6mm bullets is impressive. Mine is a 10" twist kreiger on a sako L61R which stabilises the 105gr I use but I would go with an 8" twist if I was building one up.
I use the 95gr I make in it at times too & they chrono at 3500fps which shoot really flat.
Wont be gentle on barrels but a lot of that comes back to how they are used too. Dont get them hot enough to cook on & keep the barrel clean.
    Cheers

Ooooh that does sound good. I was aiming to shoot 140 Berger hybrid targets and 147eldms at around 3100. A friend shot the 147s at 3150 in his 29" shilen select match
