shillen medium heavy fluted barrel unknown round count but low no more than 300 im told threaded 1/2x20 unknown twist rate

i put 5 round down it (50gn nosler bt) to get an idea of accuracy 3 in one hole then 2 flyers probably the nut behind the but an inch total my 1st time touching the rifle to im pretty happy with that

nice to shoot good trigger not sure if its aftermarket or worked factory

wood solid but a little rough finish wise maybe 6/10

bore is mint to the eye

owner wants 800 bare with rings or 1000 with the loopy which is perfectly functional but bashed around in the bush a bit

controlled or push feed???looks lovely,cant say I recal seeing one with forend like that before....why I asked question,maybe its pre64???

I had one of them. Should never have sold it.

Think it’s more modern than 64 as 7mm said I think it’s an xtr that’s been rebarreled
Been set up for fclass id say probably at club level like nzda 200m stuff
My mate brought it at auction it had a 6-20 vx3 on it
He reckons the guy set it up then never shot at all or much it for some reason as barrel looked new the action has had a fair amount of use as most of the jeweling has worn off the bolt
He put a couple of hundred rounds down it shooting goats but has gone back to 223 as ammo cheaper

Will put a cleaning rod down it tomorrow and see however that’s quite crude and never all that accurate from my experience

Im pretty sure this will be 1-14 twist, one passed though my hands a long time ago, nice rifle mine had a long action for a 222 but could really shoot, sold it cheap to a friends son. He shot with it for years and still has it. It is quite lot of gun for a triple 2 but better made than most of the new ones.

A cleaning rod rotation is 1.75 times in 21 inches which comes out to arround that

Aftermarket barrel not factory so what ever it was may not be what it is now

Post 64, 70 XTR looks like a trigger shoe is fitted to it. Late 70s through 80s vintage.
