    .223 Ammo

Looking to buy some .223 factory ammo for testing in the Browning A bolt I purchased on here last night. From what I read it has a 1 in 12" twist rate which should do well up to a 55gr projectile. Hunting rounds preferred and if in Hawkes bay it would be even better!

Just go to the shop and buy some hornady 55gr or so 50 pack. About a $1 a round. I’ve always found the fiocchi 55gr so ammo shot well too.

Or if you need lots Belmont, 1k 55gr soft point 60 cents a pop. Makes reloading almost redundant.

I'm ringing Gongs at 270y with open sights with my AR using the 55gr FMJs.

The price point is hard to beat plus Belmont are super easy to deal with and aren't too far away from the OP

Just had a look at the Belmont stuff, Looks like good value for the 55gr SP in bulk. Might get a box of 20 to test at some point. Might have to drive around the local hunting shops tomorrow to check out whats on offer.

@Mintie the Belmont ammo is the stuff sold at hunting and theiving, go grab a box of 50 to try, if it runs ok (runs mint in most 1:12) grab the 100 round deal from Belmont when it comes up

Try Jai at Ammoman. I got some Reman 40gr Vmax and some 55grsp and both work very well in my 1:12 223. I have found him really good to deal with, which always helps.

Yea the 55grn Belmont stuff is awesome they use the 55grn Hornady SP which work well on goats and deer as well as small stuff. They also sell the same powder that they reload with so easy to copy the exact load.
