    .223 calibre heavy barrel

    Wanted to Buy

    Heavy .223 calibre barrel.
Chamber not important as I want to re profile to octagonal and fit to an antique Winchester 1885 action.
So a used but still accurate 223 target style barrel will have plenty of meat to get the octagon out of.
    The longer the better.

    Anything considered.
Also at a pinch a BSA International barrel might also work ? But the twist is only 1:16 and I'm not sure that is fast enough for a 22 hornet.

    cheers

@akaroa1 I've got a Sako 1:12 at about 23" from memory. It's a truck axle target barrel with just a tiny blemish about 2" from the muzzle. Still shot mint before it was made removed. Interested?

It might be worth contacting Mike Collings in Whangarei, he often has target rifle take-offs of various sorts - as does Mitch Maxberry in Lower Hutt come to think of it

Thanks I'm going to cast the net a bit wider when I get a chance.

Ideally any long truck axle type target barrel will give plenty of length to Chuck up the chamber end and cut that off after its profiled.

Give Steve at Burley Arms a call. He has some ridiculously thick barrels that hes trying to get rid of. Has been trying to get rid of them for a long time and is keen to do a deal to flick them.
