    22W Magnum and 17HMR brass

    Hi team, I have the opportunity to make some 6mm projectiles using 22WMF or 17HMR brass using a friends BTSniper equipment.

    So if you have any 22WMF or 17HMR brass you've saving (or could save), and you'd be OK to move these on, let me know. Happy to buy and pay for postage.

    I need brass that is still round, dented or flattened brass is no good to me.

    Happy to share progress once I get rolling.

    Thanks team!

    I have quite a few but I will need to go through them to take out any that are split. Will have a look over the weekend and see roughly how many. Gave a few hundred to another person on the forum some time ago but have never heard back how they went.

    I've a bunch of mixed 22LR, 22WMR & 17HMR brass that's free if you're happy to pay for shipping, I've no use for it just junk to me but not interested in sorting through to pick out the 22lr

    Wow OBrien, that is the jackpot of cases. I will happily pay the shipping.

    I'd love the 22LR also, my friend has made these attached, which I trialled in my 6x45 yesterday -- 62gn .244, 2950fps and one ragged hole at 50m ......... I will try these on goats next weekend

    The 22mags and 17HMRs will make 90gns to 105, that will be a few months away

    Question @243wssm your making bullet heads from this s brass you want? Our are you making your own cases?
    Either sounds like quite the neat project.
    Could you do a small write up if you have time thanks.

    I can sent you what every quality you like. I'm currently shooing upto 1,000 rounds of 17HMR per week for work. Most of the fire case just land in the passengers side of the side by side, most have split necks as normal for 17

    @Sideshow to explain...

    I will recycle 22Mag, 17HMR, and 22LR fired cases, into 6mm projectiles. The cases become the projectiles jacket. They will have the rims removed, and lead cores will be swaged into the brass 'jacket'. The open end will be formed to be the projectile's nose as a HP or SP

    The process is well documented in a variety of Youtube videos created by BTSniper (BT is Brian Turner - he is a gunsmith in the US). Start with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp862k3bMs8

    This is not for the faint of heart investment-wise as the tools to make 6mm projectiles from 22 cases cost NZ$5k, and there's a years wait time from order, which is where I'm at currently.
