    243

Looking for a .243, ready to go. Prefer with a suppressor.

Its destined to sit on the old man's 4 wheeler in case he sees a pig while out on the farm, so no safe queens! As long as it shoots straight, cosmetic damage doesnt matter.

Thinking around $750ish as a top price.

This 7mm08 deal is a much better bet for pigs than the .243 Win. And that's coming from a lifelong .243 shooter.

When we've cleaned out pigs we've had some problems with slightly misplaced .243 shots. Get a pig with a tough shield and it can cause a .243 soft point to open up prematurely. Because of pig anatomy its easy to shoot over the top of the heart and behind the shoulder so snap shots need to have some punch behind them. If I shoot pigs with my .243 and 100gr ProHunters its head and neck only for guaranteed put down.

There isn't much factory ammo out there in .243 for snap shooting pigs with. The only factory stuff I've really trusted for larger pigs with the .243 is the S&B with 100gr Partition but you have to shop around for that and it can be expensive. Use good old PPU 140gr soft points at 2850fps for small to medium pigs, they won't know what hit 'em.

I'm with you, better with a 708, you could try barnes in the 243, I haven't but hear they are good at penetrating.
