    303 Lee Enfield No4 Mk1* 1942

In very good working order, metalwork has been refinished, non-matching bolt.

Made by Long Branch, has micrometer rear sight fitted. Barrel is good but used, clear lands and shiny, measures about 0.308” at the muzzle and bolt won’t close on a 0.074” gauge. Has sat in the gun safe unused so time to make room for something else!

Will come with an original canvas sling as well.

$950 including postage using the firearms dealer network.

Hi, fairly new here, could anyone tell me what the 0.308” at the muzzle is relative to life of the barrel? Any such thing as a new barrel spec or min / max figures that the military uses?

Assuming this one is already gone?

Life of the barrel. Lol. You might be looking at the wrong kind of rifle mate.
It means the thing is nearly 100 years old already, and had more bullets through it than you'll ever be able to afford. (Compare the lands spec of .303 to the "about" measurement of .308)

The military stopped using these about 8 decades ago. Their "spec" was only ever 3MOA.

The Forest Service used to biff them when the muzzle dia. was .311.

No need to be a prick. 308 means it’s still pretty tight for a 311 bore.
