    Nice they did not cut it back shorter than in front of the middle band, which leaves a solid front sling attachment and something to dampen barrel whipping - not just the barrel ring. Interesting shells in the window sill btw.

    @Tommy @Walker

    I have similar one, forewood cut similar place. Looks great with the top woods on it, but quite worn rifling so not good for standard ammo.

    Thought of turning her into a de Lisle but with subsonic .303s instead of .45ACP so as not to waste the charger bridge and mag. A .303 de Lisle would thus be a great all round rifle with a lot of possible applications.

    She turns out to already shoot somewhat quietly and pretty straight with @shooternz 's 212grain boolit + a caseful of TB, so I decided against the hacksaw. A subsonic load may be shootable in the forest without ear protection given her 24" barrel, but I need to order more boolits before I can try that one out.

    Do you have a picture of the state of the rifling, @40mm ?

    Ok I kind of feel like this is a dick question but how does it shoot? Like say if I wanted to use it as a genuine old school hunting rifle in the bush
