    308 for 243

Hi I have a tikka 308 with a dpt suppressor 18 barrel was purchased in feb-March last year just seeing if anyone might be interested in swapping for a 243 tikka or similar? Im wanting to change so I can have something my kids can shoot comfortably and will still meet my hunting needs.
Could be interested in swapping actions & barrels if that was a option? Cheers

Take a look at youth loads, that will give you an idea of what you can do with reduced loads for big game hunting.

My boy at age 7 had a go behind Pengys suppressed 308, shooting subsonics and he was quite happy.
I have just set up a shortened/suppressed 243 single shot for him to learn on.

308 is a really versatile round, 243 isnt.
just download and fit a muzzle brake or suppressor

A 110gr VMax over a case full of Trail Boss makes for a virtually recoil free load, clocking about 1700fps. It would be very good on bunnies and hares too.
