    .308 Remington 700P LTR

It's listed on guncity here: https://www.guncity.com/308-remingto...n-stock-117318

However is out of stock, and when getting in touch with them, it sounded like they weren't expecting anymore.

Really? To be fair they basically perform the same at the target end, just depends whether you are a Tikka fanboi or a rem nut. I have had better results with the rem product and find itís easier to get decent aftermarket bits that do the job for them than the Tikka plastic stocks, ymmv. I donít like the LTR barrel, the flutes suck in my view as they are a bit of a crap trap and a face only a mother could love. Plus, very hard to trim back if that is your thing...

With the LTR itself, that action isnít from the custom shop if I have it right, itís only the target rifles and the long actions that come from the custom shop now so you arenít getting any particular benefit from the LTR over buying the cheaper tactical, getting a HS P stock and saving a couple hundy. Same barrel tooling etc etc just less money on the stock and the ugly flutes.

I have owned a LTR 308 for about 8 years and is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned (homeloads) this includes a Sako TRG22 and a Desert Tec SRS all were new.

The barrel is a Remington 5R with as previously stated a HS precision stock, the trigger is one of the best I have used after I did the simple adjustment turning a screw ( I have a spare Jewell trigger with additional springs for a Winchester Mod 70 if anyone is interested)

When working up a load with the Dyer HBC projectiles and 2208 it put 3 rounds virtually through the same hole at 100 yards, the best group I have shot in 60 years.

I dropped into the long range one day with it playing around and had 9 v bulls or x and one just outside at 700 yards out of 12 rounds first two were sighters, must have been paying attention that day!!

Might have just got a good one, sight is a Nightforce NXS 5 - 22 x 50 bipod a Sinclair F Class with rear bag no idea manufacturer and ASE Utra moderator.

Also Accuracy International 5 round detachable mag and bottom metal.

I have sold the Sako TRG22 still have the LTR!

Remmingtons quality control took a huge dive a while ago, wouldnt touch them with a barge pole now. speaking from first hand experience with a top end model.
