    use your sparky mate, if he is ewrb registered he should be able to sort out a temp supply for you (ie one night of lighting) . Otherwise hire a generator and associated leads.etc. Better than buying stuff for one job and you could end up with the wrong gear (not suitable and have to onsell) and not be insured if you burn the place down.

    AH, you are missing the point. I dont want to spend anything.... the bare minimum.

    If the supply is 63 amps at the pole, then into my meter. Then surely a 32a draw from the breaker side of the meter is going to be fine. I will get my mate to sus all the proper advice/help etc.
    I just want a plug and socket so i can avoid hard wiring it.
    But I might end up doing that anyway, got a couple weeks to go, but am keen to piss around with the lights for a few nights before the party.
