L5A3 made by RG was all tracer 750m burn back in my army days we fired millions of them. These maybe reloads if not don’t start any fires!

Primers look lacquered which would be unusual for reloads. Tracer is a military feature, but soft point not. Never heard of a soft point tracer - would be dangerous to have a jacketed case "open" at each end. Must be unfired tracer cases with bullets pulled and replaced, or maybe the factory just loaded a batch of their tracer cases with soft points?

Certainly not tracers, Id say considering where they came from Im certain they were not pulled by him and the soft points have a factory crimp so Id say they were factory loaded in that brass by a company like belmount that buys bulk components (sometimes mil surplus) and loads hunting rounds for various contracts.
Maybe I should pull one for closer inspection.
These came with some factory CAC .243 soft point and .308 rounds of the same era so it may have even been them.

Have a memory moment of breaking down GPMG belts to strip out the tracers because the fire danger was high on the range in Sennybridge. Always feels like It rains there 364days a year!! Just a comedy.
