    45/70 MARLIN SBL

I am toying with the idea of moving on the mighty 45/70 SBL , stainless laminate t-rex rifle .
Fitted with midwest industries alloy m-lok handguard , and also have the original wood , and pistol green dot sight as well as factory ghost ring set up .
Also currently fitted with leather butt stock 6 round ammo holder custom made by me but made for lefty weirdo shooters .
I also cleaned up the internals for a smoother action .
Owned by me only from new .

I am looking more for expressions of interest at the mo as I am struggling with the thought of selling as one of my favorite rifles , but needs must ... money talks eh...

thinking around the 2.5 k mark with all the extras fitted and I think I still have a couple of boxes of hornady ftx ammo as well which it loves.

Can't add pics at mo but if there is any serious interest could add some later .
Most of you will probably already be familiar with the rifle from previous pics posted .....

I just can't figure out if I love these or not, got a classic few lever actions but I can't decide on the modern stuff, whilst I scratch my head more I'd be interested if you wanted to part out the sling it's real nice

Love it. In terms of whooping a mob of goats up close i would want no other setup. As long as the ammo isn't set to 'superman' that is (like my first batch of pure sillyness)

I'd be keen but I have enough trouble finding deer. I haven't even seen any T Rex sign. Must be a South Island thing.

Well the way it shoots they don't need to be dino sized targets to hit them. I have been using the hornady 325 gr ftx factory rounds and it loves those.
This pic is a one hundred meter target shooting off a rest using the holo dot fitted in the other pics which completely covers the target at that range....
I will let you figure out which 2 holes are 45 sized... oh and that is my daughters delicate wee finger by the way , not mine....

And here's the ammo holder on the business side , with the forewood on before fitting handguard , which I put on to save the wood from harm , and the hornady rounds it likes....

As per the other thread, I have been looking at the Marlin Dark 45/70. I'm coming round to the idea of cowboy dinosaur hunter guns. I think you should keep it. Sell a kidney, child or something else.

believe me , I am not jumping with joy at the thought of selling and it is really doing my head in but it is becoming a safe queen as I spend more time hunting with the family and I worry about the kids hearing. The last goat I shot my daughter was next to me and her ears rang for ten mins after the shot , and it terrifies the missus , which is why I ended up building the supressed 308 bush pig for bush hunting instead.
And now I have found a 22mag for bunnies , possum and goats in a semi I would like , that the whole family can use.
All my other rifles have a specific use except the mighty 45 , since the 308 build , so unfortunately , that will have to be the one to be replaced . probably.......maybe......DOH...
