Right, so mostly i suspect the brass size issue is in respect of use in ex-military rifles, them being Euro manufactured

I use all my 6.5’s, namely 1900 Oberndorf, 1916 CG m96, 1941 Husqvarna m38, and a m93 target variant with heavy Norma barrel. My hunting rifle is a Tikka Forest in 6.5x55. I try to keep used brass with the rifle that it was discharged from.

I forgot I used a Swedish Mauser as my service rifle but did not shoot many matches with it. But when I did load it for the matches with 42.5 grain of 2209 with 144 grain Lapua FMJ BT bullets. Had no problems with any brass. I used standard Redding die.

Good info all around thks. What I love about this Forum. 2209 seems to be a goto powder. Just what I need, another calibre, another collection, another powder. Fun, fun, fun...

I was fortunate in locating/buying 1kg of 2209 last week from a private vendor. Last time I saw it in commercial premises was Hokitika, but try Craig @Cerakote. He’s very good at sourcing stuff.
