I forget the exact length, but it's a bit over legal with the can off. The can is (from memory) 4" forward and 5" back from the muzzle (or possibly the other way around). I'm in the midst of beer #3 or 4 now, so safe will stay closed until tomorrow.

jst spent the day at the range with my bisley/norinco .... first supressed outing it prefers the cheap as chips barnaul to the ppu. have been pushing the ppu thru to get some brass for reloading 2" ish group @ 100yd with barnaul . put some subs thru (150gr) but not quite happy yet 7.2gr trailboss ok-ish @ 50yd 6.2gr trailboss not so good projectiles seated out as far as poss. ..... quiet tho . gonna try 8 gr next time ......using a budget 1.5-5 kilwell scope for now barrel shortened to 16.5" with dpt could have shortened it another 4"? before hitting the stock . so overall length at the mo is round .....pass dpt says howmuch length their cans add i cant remember (bloody steinlager)

I have a couple new Baikals for $475 each. Wooden stock so changing shape is easy. PM me if interested. S/H they usually go for similar money to new. Howas are usually a pretty good choice and I am not trying to upsell you to one of these as I dont have any. But if it came to a choice between the Howa and the Zastava, the Zastava would win as while about the same price, it has a flush 5 shot internal mag rather than the box the Howa has, though the Howa would likely perform a bit better.....

Good luck! BTW given up reloading high velocity 7.62x39 due to powders. However there is a new 300 BLK Powder from Hodgdon that claims good velocity in 7.62. Anyone tried it?

    BTW black powder 300 anyone?

My Bisley Norinco jw103 (came 2nd hand with can) shot like a shotgun originally, but with a bedding job will now hold 2" with the Highland ammo at 100m. Thats the 123gr softpoint stuff... Only arguments I have are with the barrel internal finish (cave in the congo is smoother) and the highland ammo is bloody unreliable on goats. Had a few turn 90deg on ribs on broadside shots and exit somewhere near the arse...

300cal...... I use lilgun in mine ,got mate to do quickload calculations for me,sure cant complain with how it works but then I dont use a chrony so if its accurate and they kill they good enough. also use 2206 which is good the lilgun has room to spare if you were looking to push for more velocity (watching pressure of course.)

For the JW103 get some 3 micron daimond paste off trademe, then spend an hour polishing out the barrel. Makes a huge differance in accuracy over a string of shots. I've got mine holding sub moa over five shots with belmont ammo.
