    Looking for stainless 7mm barrel

Will be going on a model 7 so a remington 700 will work and i beleive a tikka/sako also

7mm sum would be erfect but i would also take a 7mm-08 and possibly rem mag

I will be fluting it so if its already fluted better yet

    Would prefer minimum 22"

    Cheers

I don't think a Tikka/sako barrel can be rethreaded and fitted to a rem action, other way round works. Tikka thread is smaller

Research I saw showed them to be the same but you maybe right??

I picked up a mod 7 tonight on trademe in 270wsm with a fluted barrel. It pains me to say it but I may end up using it as is....

Yeah they're cool on the right rifle. I put one on the mint original timber/blued mod 7 in 243 I got for dad. Really suits it

Im onto my second 270wsm (an xbolt). Trimmed to 22". A 150 grn sleek projectile (VLD or LRAB) at 3.1k is a good match for the 7mmsaum. The differences are marginal and mainly occur on the internet.

150 grain at 3100 does sound rather good

it has a saving grace being a wsm but still it has that 270 stigma.

The 150 lrab really closes the gap between 277 and 284.

A friend has pretty good luck with a 130gr accubond with his 270WSM. I used it to shoot a hind at 500yds.

270wsm and 150 Bergers or LRAB’s at 3050fps have no problems killing reds out to 750m.
Plenty of energy and retained velocity for humane and quick kills.
All you have to do is put the bullet in the right place.
