    After a $500 rifle

Gday all just sold some fur I had saved up and want another bang stick doesn't have to have a scope but after something accurate and reliable not to fussed on caliber as long as it's not and odd ball cartridge or a whooping big caliber single shot or bolt action. May not be much about but don't know till you ask!
    Cheers

    have a look at norinco/bisley in 7.62x39mm or .223
I really rate my x39mm as a bush gun
cheap as chips as finished by foot but it works and works well
    only 150 yrd deer rifle

    I'd buy a Remington 700.

I have purchased my last 3 for $450 $550 and $600 all on trademe.

Plucking possums ain't easy so you want to invest the cash into a rifle that's gonna hold its value.

    (In my opinion)

Ruger American on Tardme for $550 if you can spare the extra. Includes decent scope.

Bloody accurate, the stocks snapping in half is a bit of an issue but that's what Boyds is for

I have a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R in an ATI sporter stock with the modified bolt handle, scope mount and a muzzle brake (to make it louder LOL) Built on a M44 short carbine rifle rahther that the long 91/30. Shoots well. And for the $500 I could look to including the 3 remaining packets of ammo (203gr soft point). Ammo is usually easy to get and it seems to like the Barnaul SP at about $110 per 100 rounds.

Its a good shooter with plenty of knock down and pretty decent accuracy. Ideal for a pig gun as its reasonably short. I dont use it anywhere near as much as I should so perhaps it needs a new owner.

I also have a 303 from an estate sale that I have been asked to rehome. Its a 1918 ShtLE number 1 Mk III. It is sporterised with a parker hale scope base and sporter stock. Original 10 shot magazine and in pretty good nick. Local 303 expert thinks $230 to $250 would be a fair price so if I was to get $200 plus shipping, I think everyone would be happy. I can email pictures if you are interested in either.

    Thanks
