Ahhem (clearing throat) Looking for a Land Cruiser

After some sound advice I may have re visited a recent idea of a vehicle to purchase as a present to myself.

To that end I am looking at old Toyota Land Cruisers, something similar to this Toyota Land Cruiser 1977 | Trade Me as this is very similar to what we used to have as kids and man it went places......

SO.... if anyone is looking at selling in the next wee while please give me a bell.

Owww also happy for advice too!! (about buying a land cruiser!!!)

you will have to watch out for rust, the 4 banger diesel is very gutless, but they go well with a 283/350 chevs
steering can be average but all the parts are rebuildable
drums all round need supervision often

I know of a landy running cruiser diffs and chev 350 for sale pricey but its like a new car. Fully rebuilt buy a sheet metal guy by the looks. Best of both worlds

thats a way better choice than a L/Rover,being in the brake and clutch industry I would aim for a disc brake model.

That looks tidy. Rear door is a mod ?

Drums all round work ok when in good nick and adjusted correctly, which you have to do after every mud trip

there are a few of these around that have had 80series diffs transplanted with disk all round and diff locks.

I got discs all round. Hilux discs and crown callipers. The drum brakes drove me mad but I don't think it's so easy now with certification.
Look for one that has lots of fibre glass body panels.
