Whats on the left hand side of the receiver? Definitely a quality build with set trigger and lever latch foor plate. The crest will be under the scope mount (possibly)

Usually there's the factory code on the front of the receiver. Maybe an Eagle or two.

It is unusual that there's no proof stamps.

But that number is probably the serial number. Not the barrel date.

Have a Google for hexagonal barreled Mauser. Usually they have a stepped down barrel profile or a sporter.

looks like a post ww2 rifle built on a military action that did not get made into a service rifle . Possibly made by a German gunsmith immediately post war , as they had the actions and barrels , and needed to make sporting rifles to survive.

The Weaver bases are a much later addition - probably had claw mounts from the factory

Its a milsurp action - that cut is for loading with a stripper clip - the stripper slot ears were milled off when it was first built. It has a military bolt with an added spoon type bolt handle .

Thumb notch so you can push all the rounds off the stripper clip
