    Black Kuiu Superdown Jacket

    Hey Guys,

    Kuiu Superdown Jacket

    Black
    Size L

Thinking around $300 is a fair price. Its practically brand new, worn twice around town and decided its just a bit too short for me so want to get the size up.

Will post pictures when I get the time.

    Cheers.

6ft bit over 80kg, technically it fits perfectly just a bit too perfectly for me, I prefer to have a lil more length. I also have what some would call chimp arms, long and lanky .

Mate of mine who's a bit shorter than me (average build) tried it on for sizing his order and went with this size.

forgot to mention it is the model with the hood.

Great jacket, I have one in brown. $300 seems fair for a new one, highly recommended.

I have one too, crazy warm for its weight. I'm a bit taller and heavier than you and size large is great for layering but probably a size too small for casual day to day wear. great kit.

How tough is the material on these things? Am I going to rip it if I brush past some gorse or matagouri?

Suppose youd only take it for trips on the tops

@LOC @hotsoup they probably can answer that question better, but personally I Won't be pushing through too much bush without a protective layer on the outside. They are designed to be an insulation layer not a protective outer layer so much. However the beauty with them is that they pack down into one of the pockets, as in would be small enough to fit in the cargo pocket of your pants or the misses handbag.

here a couple of reviews (minus the local hunting mags review a couple of months ago) that pushed me over the edge to get one

it feels like a better material than a macpac vest I have. a lot tougher and also water resistant. I haven't worn it in matagouri and have no intention to ever do so. not really what it is intended for

I own one also and yes you will likely destroy it if you push through gorse or matagouri. That said you will likely destroy most down jackets in this environment. If you want a down jacket for these conditions I suggest a Cactus 'Canvas Down Jacket'.

Hey yeah those cactus ones look awesome - bombproof down but heavy as - horses for courses. Cheers for replies - would buy this but just bought a new Zeiss 5 minutes ago and would like to still have a partner when I get home tonight.

Don't worry about that, Will keep you warmer than the misses, plus it'll cost less in the long run .
