Blaser saddle mount and 1" rings. Gun Star brand

For Sale as per blurb below. Long story short I purchased these from zruncho on eBay. They are very nice, possibly nicer than my genuine Blaser saddles. They are very light with alloy rings. My problem is the mount is too low for my scope. I have been asked by zruncho to try and sell them here in NZ to avoid return shipping costs etc and I will buy a second higher saddle from him. Cost me $410 delivered. TYD for $400

Easy removal and reattachment of optics by simply turning the locking screws with the provided allan/hex wrench

Recoil proof and guaranteed to return to zero after reattachment

Very Low mount to enhance sighting and long range precision shooting

Precision crafted in the European Union

I got 3 of his already but I am tempted.
I have 30 and 34 mm rings spare.
Might be to low for me as well.

He came back to me and was very surprised as this was the first time he has had this problem. The scope is a Zeiss Conquest HD5. I have shimmed the scope up with cardboard spacers to see how much I need and its only 1.5mm.

Yup I have the same scope.
Can't you just get higher rings?

Is it not feasible to make / have made some accurately thicknessed spacers or shims to raise the scope?.

'Spose you'd need to check length of thread on ring to saddle attach screws.

They have a round male locating lug through the centre of the ring that mates into the saddle. It's about 3mm proud so would be a bitch to machine something to add the approx 3mm I will need.

    3-15x42.
The ocular is physically 44mm OD. Didn't measure the objective OD.

Ok, thanks. So with my 3.5-18x44 swaro I'd have the same issue as you know doubt, bugger.

The problem in question. Is the Swaro ocular similar size? The rest of the scope is perfect. Nice and low. Just the safety tang cannot rise enough before it hits the scope underside.

Ahh ok, I was thinking it was the other end. The swaro looks a wee bit more stream lined??

Doubt it. I have low 1" rings but different saddle. Had the 3-18 swaro and had at least 5mm clearance from the barrel.
My HD5 objective is noticably bigger and I have about half that clearance now.
You should be right with the swaro I would think.

@R93. You put the Z5 3.5-18 I swapped you on your Blaser. Was it a GunStar mount? It's the ocular (eyepiece) that is the problem. The rest is mint.

Never heard the term gunstar so I doubt it mate.
I have the ultra low rings tho. Heaps of room with the swaro we swapped and not much room but enough with the HD5.
I will put up a pic for you in a mo.
