You can rivet them with a bolt, nut and a couple of washers. I have a tool and some rivnuts but I’m in Wellington.
I can send some rivnuts if you want to have a play. I’ll post some photos tomorrow.

I have used bolt and washers in the past also. I did it by screwing a bolt through the back until hard against rear of rivnut then using a couple of washers on the front where bolt thread protrudes and tighten down a nut against the washers. Helps if you use a wee bit of lube on washers and nut face.
Not ideal but should work in a pinch , but of course you need to be able to get to the back of the rivnut with it in place so you can reach the bolt.

Anzor have them for rent - 76B Hayton Road, Wigram, Christchurch 8042. Probably let you use it for free if you talked nicely to them at the counter. The Albany crowd would, but that is a long way to drive.
