Thought I'd try here before i buy new, speaking of can anyone recommend a forestry related online store?

There probably are but have found that most traders on there charge a fortune for shipping (and charge me for rural even if we aren't technically!) would prefer not to support the yellow site and deal direct with a company

Dollar General in Invercargill has genuine Stihl wedges they aren't cheap. You may prefer cheapies if they get modified at a regular rate.

I amount say a regular rate.... Just messed up two last night as I was loosing my temper and not concentrating. Log I was ringing up must have been 38" as my 18" bar wouldn't meet in the middle, then tried ripping down the middle and it still didn't work so wedges all around and out with the axe. Cut a notch out of one side to get bar deeper and clipped the wedges

Hard head wedges sold by levin saws or treetools are the ones to get.Far superior to the shit plastic orange wedges especially if you do a lot of felling.
