    Custom 7 SAUM

*Warning, this thread contains many pictures of a very shiny rifle*

Defiance Deviant Hunter short mag action with integral 20 MOA rail and integral recoil lug machined from a single piece of 416 Stainless. Bolt is fluted with a teardrop knob and is manufactured from a single piece of 4340 ChroMo steel. Slick as snot on glass.

Barrel is a 24'' Proof Carbon Fibre Sendero contour threaded 5/8x24 TPI. Barrel is cut rifled and 1:9 twist. Cleans in 2-3 patches with Collings 90. Has fired 223 rounds exactly since new and is mint. Fitted with an East Coast Arms Mach III Ti radial brake that does an awesome job allowing you to self spot at 300m plus.

Stock is an AG composites CAT 700 100% carbon fibre stock manufactured in the USA by veterans and weighs 700 gms. no marks.

Bottom metal is rem factory BDL with some black anodizing missing, intent was to cerakote the whole rig.

Mag box is a wyatts centre feed allowing an OAL of 3". Fits 3 plus one in the chamber, giving you 3 more than you need!

Trigger is a TriggerTech Primary set at 1.5lbs and has click adjustments with an allen key, each 'click' is 1/4 of a lb. zero creep, awesome to use.

Overall weight is 6lb 5Oz or 2.9kg if my math is correct.

I had this built by Desert Guns Cromwell in 2017 using a standard 7 SAUM reamer from Gunworks, no neck turning etc required. Have only used Norma 7 SAUM brass from new, 94 peices included (nearly all on their second / third firing). Hornady dies included (sans shellholder) and a redding neck die.

It is bedded and shoots single hole groups. I have shot deer, wallabies and goats out to 680m and managed a 30mm group at 600m.

I'm selling as it practically duplicates, slightly out performs my 264 Win Mag and I want to build something much larger (338 Imp / 300 NM Imp).

    Performance wise it will shoot:

    162gr @ 3100fps best group 10mm
    175 @ 2950 fps best group 12mm

The worst group i have shot is 16mm, this this is a laser.

    I have some loaded 197 / 195 to try.

I would like $5000 posted. Test drives welcome.

    Cheers.

Never met a deer that could read a ballistics chart...

In the real world the 2x 7BM I have seen were performing the same.

Or in other words: a free happy man with a nice rifle.

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

Nice Rifle, but after the last bastard was shot did anyone else see the wallaby sitting and waiting just downhill, offering itself to the rifle as a sacrifice ?? Wallaby Conservation ???
