    Custom 7mmFX (7mm-338 Lapua Improved)

New listing with updated photos and information:

Barnard PL short action (15mm shorter than regular PL action) that has been lightened by dual porting, fluting the bolt etc. Nickel plated, 25 MOA rail. Bartlein 30" fluted 3B profile barrel. 1 in 9 twist. Ti 3 port brake. McMillan Game Scout edge tech stock. Comes with cheek riser as pictured. Total weight as pictured 3,840g

Round count between 170 and 175 (I have 19 projectiles left in 2nd box used in rifle plus 6 loaded rounds so max is 175 however I have used up to 5 projectiles for dummy rounds etc). Using 180gr hybrids at 3,400fps. Only run US869 in it which is "easier" on the barrel that bigger stick powder. Barrel has been properly treated, no long strings of shots or rapid fire.

Comes with 50 x formed cases (Lapua 338LM cases necked down, improved and neck turned) that have been annealed. I have another 60 odd newly formed cases that I'll sell at cost.

NO dies included as my brother also has a 7mmFX so keeping them. I'm happy to reload for the buyer, including annealing and cleaning the cases.

I have over 5lb of US869 (enough for around 350 rounds) and 219 x 180gr hybrids that the rifle buyer has first option on. If you want to get your own dies, NZ Hunter can supply them.

    $3,100 for rifle and 50 cases. Powder + $250 and projectiles + $180

Group in photo is 3 shots at 830m

@300LRH Port length is 3.070" or 78mm and loaded round is 3.655" or 92.8mm.

No ejector in the bolt so loaded rounds aren't being forced sideways as bolt pulled back, quick and easy to pull the bolt out with the Barnard anyway if needed
