    Custom Cross Knife

This is a 4" Cross knife. Its called a "Kephart". The handle is maroon Burlap Micarta. Very little use and razor sharp. Wonderful hunting knife.

Cross is very similar to Bark River; convex grind and A2. He does the re-handing jobs for BR.

This is a beauty, but I have far too many knives. The sheath is wet formed and nice and tight.

    $250 delivered.

OMG Tahr, when I grow up, I want to have as many knives as you’ve got !
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I would dearly love to have such a fine blade. But I cannot afford such an extravagance.

Out of interest Horace Kephart was a famous wilderness chap in North America in the last century. He had definite ideas on what was important in a hunting/camping knife. He looked like a bushranger and smoked a pipe, and had a luger pistol. I don't know why. Its just a picture I saw once.

It does the business too. Very simple spear point is a pleasure to use on deer. Razor sharp too.

I'm wrapped to hear that. I was reluctant to let it go but I had one coming from the same maker in CPMD2 which was a steel I wanted to try a Kephart in.

I hope that you enjoy it for many years.

Cost 25cent less and you got 25.4mm less of knife. Looks like what you call the 'mini' is the one to the right in this picture, which also looks like the one sold by @Tahr.

The drop/"spear" point is good for skinning, makes it easier to not puncture lungs or intestines as you make a cut in the skin, inside to outside.

Swiss army knives and the humble Mercator offer a similar point.

Yes, I had a BR mini kephart with about a 3.25" blade but it walked out the door with @craigc He really likes it and uses it a lot on deer. I think I preferred the 4" Cross one. Ive also got a 5" BR Kephart in 4V - probably a bit long for every day hunting but great for whipping the hind legs and shoulders off in a hurry.

The swiss army and mercator does have a similar shape but thats where it begins and ends.

The mini Kephart referred to is a "Kephart style" knife available in a smaller size.

If you have a good supply of original Colclesser Kepharts I will buy them all at your stated price of $1.75 and $2.00ea. Am happy to cover shipping, USD currency conversion and inflation adjustment.

@john worthington it has an interesting history. I was gifted it by the Japanese Dr on youtube "Virtuovice". He had used it for a while and then gifted it on to me. Its actually a BR Loveless, not a Bob Loveless original.
