Mate, cut the barrel down to 16", fit a magnum Dpt with a S/S first baffle and you've got the ultimate bushpig that you could still smoke deer at 600 odd yards with if needed.

20s ok if you don't suppress, but still too long once suppressed for a bushpig IMHO.

Very tempting but as others have said, that is already a great setup for a bushpig.
Just cut barrel to 18-20" and stick a DPT with stainless first baffle on and it'll be awesome and still retain good long range performance too.

Just to give you some more ideas, other than my 22" 7Saum I also have a 15" barreled 708 running 140gr nbt's at 2700. I'd still happily shoot a deer at 500 yards with it. Also have a 17" barreled 284win running 162g Amax at 2740, have shot steel to 640 yards with that and wouldn't hesitate shooting a deer at that range with it.

The model 7 708 at 15" with Dpt is super handy.

It would be a shame to chop it. You are getting good velocities with the 24" barrel so makes an excellent tops rifle. If not for you, for someone else.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Have you guys heard of the 80/20 rule?

80% of rifles nowadays are "bush pigs" and only 20% of deer are shot in the bush.

@llewelyn do you know what the rifle weighs without the scope?
