You aren't going to get any better performance going from .28 -.25 as the difference is f all & case capacity is the same

Just wasting your money in my opinion.

really? i know theres not a huge diameter difference but the same suppressor on a howa 7-08 seems to make a bigger difference so i figured i need to go down a bit in the diameter

Have to agree with previous statements, would seem a waste of money to me. It is the case capacity that is making the difference your are hearing, not the suppressor. If you wanted better suppression, you would want to get more baffles.

Just buy one of the stainless baffles in 6.5 (that's as close as they get to 25) which is a handy upgrade anyway they are 90$. But you will want to take the 270 designation off the front or that could lead to problems.

The 7-08 is quieter than 270 because the 270 is much faster and alot more powder than the 7mm not that the suppressor
    Is less effective
Ive used a 6.5 one on a 223 before compared with the 223 one you would need a decibel meter to tell couldn’t tell with your ears

When I first realised supressors were a good thing, I started with the most used rifle (223), thinking each would need a specific one. Turned out thats not true my 30 cal goes on the 308, 7.6x39, 6.5, and occasionally the 223.
Its the supressor volume, shape and number of baffles that do the job and thats unrelated to the size of the hole.

There has to be some benefit to tighter clearance or else manafacturers would simply make one size for all.

You don't think they would rather sell you more than one?

It does but not enough to worrie about imo
Just buy 1 in the largest cal you own and run it on everything unless you own a very large cal like 44 then get one for that
    And one for everything else
