    EOI: Weatherby MK V Ultralight

I have Frodo's old Weatherby 270 Winchester Ultralight which may be up for sale soon as I think I'm going to go down the route of another custom build.
The rifle is awesome and a pleasure to carry at only 5.75 pounds bare.
The rifle is bedded and may have had a trigger job (that or its the most amazing factory trigger I have ever used maybe Frodo can confirm).
It is threaded however I have not had a suppressor on it ever 1/2x28UNEF I believe.
You can ogle the specs here.
The rifle shoots factory blue box 130 grain federal and Hornady precision hunter 145 eld x sub moa.
The point of this rifle was to have a factory ammo gun but now I found a paddlestock Ruger in 308 that covers both my weird obsession with the rugers and a gun with readily available ammo.
Currently this rifle is topped with a VX-5HD 3-15x44 which I may consider selling with the rifle.
I'm still uncertain whether selling this is a good idea so I have put this up as an expression of interest to see if anyone wants a rifle that should take game to 600-700 yards on factory ammo or further with a handloaded 140 Berger Classic.

I'd be looking for $2800 as a package with around 40 Hornady Cases and similar Federal cases if I can find them.
Happy to let anyone shoot it to prove accuracy at the handloaders range if they need proof but you bring your own ammo.

Will get photos up soon it features briefly in the beginning of this video but I don't often take rifle photos so will get some when i return home.

Just to confirm you are asking $2800 for rifle scope and brass? What is the length of the barrel and do you have a chronograph speed on the 145 eld,s?.

As Stocky said, I was the previous owner of this rifle.

It's light as a feather and shoots sub MOA if you do your part.

The trigger is factory, but it's been worked by Greg Hudson at Custom Guns Invercargill. It's crisp and has got zero over travel. I had the rifle bedded too.

I wouldn't want anything longer than 22" on an ultra-manouverable, lightweight mountain rifle. This isn't a long range rig - a few extra inches of barrel is negligible.

I paid 4k for the bare rifle alone. With a VX5 included - bloody good buying. That's close to $6k replacement value for $2800...

Rifle is still for sale. It shot well with the 3 other types of ammo Outdoor lad brought. This included a great group with cheap Remington Core Lokts. Outdoorlad could maybe confirm which loads but I believe that it was the Federal Blue Box 130s, Federal Premium 140 Accubonds, Remington Core Lokts 140s.

Cam, if you've still got the Conetrol bases and rings, I'll buy the rifle back off you for the price I sold it to you.

My Mauser is gonna get refinished and I'm hesitant to drag it through rough country in the new year. I reckon the MKV with a cerakote finish would be easier to lug around too.
