    F/S Kimber Mountain Ascent .280ai

    Hey all.

I'm after $2800 plus shipping for it. I've had since new - month old. I've only put 60 rounds through her with load testing. The barrel seems to shoot better dirty - after 9 shots. I've only tried 1 type of powder - ar2209 and 162gr amaxs only. Its one of their new batches with the sub moa guarantee. I opened up the forend after round no 40 because i noticed that it was potentially touching the barrel, not uncommon of kimbers. After giving it sufficient clearence I used norski epoxy resin to reseal that part of the stock. Also if needed are redding dies, f/l plus seater (20 rounds old) for an addition $130 plus 40 once fired nosler .280ai brass (all ready to go with primer) and 10 twice fired brass of tge same batch. After $120 for the brass. Brass and dies wont be sold separately or until rifle has sold. Rifle comes with 1" low talley rings and factory muzzle brake.

Reason for sale is that for me personally, it's too much of a lightweight rifle.

May be open to offers for swaps.

What kind of accuracy were you getting Grunta ?

I have just finished a couple of 7mm compacts if they would be more your thing..

Had a couple loads half moa, but the barrel needed to be dirty to shoot, otherwise from a cold clean barrel they would be 1.2 to 2" but seemed to settle back after a few shots. I can email or post pics once I transfer from ph. Send a pm with email. Those rifles above look good. Can you email me some details on them, nzhunter@outlook.com

Hi Grunta. How many FPS? I'm always interested in the difference between the 7mm/280/284 variants; especially with 2209. :-)

    I have two...

    Cheers.

    Hey Craig,

Being such a lightweight rifle I'm not pushing the boundaries. I've reached 2920fps with quite a bit of room left in the case. I don't normallys shoot over 500 yds, so I'm not chasing speed. I'm picking up some 150gr Btips today, so I'll have a play with them in the next month or so when I have time.

You're a bloody bugger! That is my ultimate rifle and have wanted one for a while, but couldn't find one, so only sent my Remington away to get rebarrelled a few days ago!

Hi Grunta, weren't you using a ruger 7x57, or did you sell it for the Kimber.
