Firearms transport from Auckland to Stratford.

Climbing up mount taranaki tomorrow. Leaving today after lunch. If anyone needs any help with getting a rifle or shotgun around then I will see what I can do

Take lots of water , wear proper boots , use lots of sunscreen.
Cats have nine lives-which makes them ideal for experimentation...

You never paid a lot of attention in your NZ geography class did you? Everyone knows that Mount Taranaki is on the other side of the South Island. Ha ha ha ha
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

dont forget your jandals - mountaineering essentials for out-of-towners. And your cell phone so you can call the rescue helicopter...

Dont underestimate Egmont - very accessable but very deadly

I have a Plb, bush sense and the right gear. And not enough pride to have bad perseverance. Thanks for your concern.

At this time of year we used to make a midnight ascent and arrive for Dawn, awesome view with the sun rising and the shadow of the mountain hitting the coast behind you.
Say hi to my old man, I threw him off a few years back, mind you he was just dust.

There were a couple of people who did that. I think now that I have done it during the day I would be be comfortable with doing it again in the dark.

There were a couple of people who had alpine tents who were going to take photos of the sunset and sunrise.
