Free to a deserving home..... but.

    I have a marlin 925m in .22 magnum .
It it part of the estate of a friend of mine who passed away last year.
It is almost Immaculate, I can hardly see a mark on it.
It has some cheap alloy rings and a cheap scope, all perfectly fine for the intended use.

However, it will not eject once fired.
I have no use for it, never have and only kept it as I was given it.
I will not trade it and make it some one else's problem.

I would like to give it away to a deserving young fellow or some one who has a young fellow and is not perhps in a position to buy something like this.

    There is a caveat.
It is no use to anybody at the moment, maybe it just needs a chamber polish.
I would like if some on here with more knowledge than me would take a look at it and fix it for whoever it goes to..
I will pay freight from my end and would expect the end receiver to pay freight from whoever is good enough to fix it.

If you are interested in any part of this please pm me.
    cheers.

    Good on ya
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

We have a fellow here who is learning Gunsmithing under the guidance of our own smith. (Think along the lines of an apprenticeship as a hobby) He is learning new bits as jobs come in that he has not done. This may be something that he can do and if not then the gunsmith will walk him through it as well. (He still has his other responsibilities outside this to deal with.)

Where abouts in the country are you? If near us we can certainly arrange to have a peek at it while you search for a deserving owner. If you are near us here in Chch then feel free to PM me. If further afield, I am sure you will find someone nearer you who can help.

Another idea that we did for another estate was to auction the items of for a fair price and gave all the proceeds to a charity that fit with the former owner. I can go into reasons behind this but when all is said and done it will be up to you what happens.

Either way I think its a great idea.

I'm in the middle of the south and that sounds like a very good offer as does VC's, thank you.

We have a bit of a lack of up and coming members?

We still have to find a home for the forum rifle Black Beauty as well, perhaps some kind of competition ?

VC I dunno about a lack of up and coming, but I'd say you've probably got the sentiment right
Most that post here are established, with a job and ability to pay for something.

Perhaps we could have a sideways look at maybe our workmates or similar , people that aren't on here, and have a young family.

    Just a thought.
