Fitted with the original stock, also comes with professionally sporterised stock

The synthetic stocked m96 is very tempting. Decent entry-level midsize centerfire.

Cheers, they are good old rifles. I really like the 6.5 swede mauser but I went a bit far buying these two.

I bought the fully wooded one for my friend who since changed his mind (bought a cannon of a mosin carbine, which deafens anyone near when he fires), so I haven't even fired that. And I bought the synthetic one as a bit of a project: I got a rough inletted oak stock (since sold) with the intention of shaping and finishing the stock, putting a timney trigger in it and having it as a nice mid range open country rifle.

Unfortunately I have been (rather persuasively) informed that I have things I need to spend my money on other than "bloody guns"

I only fired it for a rough zero for the previous scope, but then it was doing around an inch at 50m using the ex military rounds firing from the prone unsupported. I have no doubt it would able to do better off a rest with some more expensive rounds.
