    FS: 280AI Redding Dies.

Redding 280AI 3 die set, very little use as I got a competition set. Doesn't include a bushing.

    $100

Has this forum covered the topic of the wonderful Redding green plastic cases (as pictured) recently...the ones that don't accept their own dies once they are set up. I finally took to the box for my .280 Improved Competition set with a very sharp chisel last week to do some irreversible modifications. The dies now fit and I'm a lot happier. Why, why, why, would a quality die manufacturer de-value their products by sending them out year after year in a box that is so poorly designed ?

You are so right, they are so crappy like that....

I have "attacked" a large number of them now.......

Yeah, I found exactly the same thing and asked exactly the same questions! I attacked my .300 Win Mag and .30-06 boxes with a holesaw and I came unstuck when I did a pre-emptive strike on my .22-250 ones, only to find that when I finally did set the latter ones up, I discovered they would've "fat" anyway by a country mile without having to damage the box!
