Yes. Loved it. I have another one in S35VN which is stainless. No need for 2.

You will see I left a bit of meat on when doing the back steak. That's what happens when your knife is quite thin and too sharp. You are inclined to lift it so it doesn't bite into the ribs. The A2 one I just sold was a little thicker so glided over the bone a lot better (as in the top pic).

Nice @hotbarrels. Try DLT. Their freight is only USD22.

Ok, so I was looking through the Bark River catalogue and couldn't help but notice this flabbergasting useful, yet unfathomably discontinued, chunk of awesomeness.

May I introduce the Bark River Battle Cleaver.

Yes, I have bought through DLT before and through KnifeCenter, both good traders and good shipping rates. KSF are stupidly expensive on their international shipping [US$90 was the quote on this knife] so I used YouShop, which turned into a drama as they designated it as a prohibited item Never again!

I went with KSF as there was/is a very limited supply of the Trail Buddy around in S35VN [with nothing on their production horizon] and of what was in stock at the various suppliers, I liked their handle material the best.
The Trail Mate is a awesome smaller version of the Trail Buddy and amazingly good a flaying the skin off goats and deer. It was my motivation for getting the larger Trail Buddy.
...... and this one is in roughed out buffalo horn, .......... because its mine!

Well, it was the first deer I had ever shot and butchered so I think I can be excused

    Do you give lessons?
