Full custom Din Collins 30.06AI - Another rifle I'll deeply regret selling.

    Hi

Well I never thought Iíd see the day I put this one up for sale, but as much as Iíd like to hold onto it - itís time to move it on.

This is a mans rifle! Made by master gunsmith Din Collins and features the following:

    -Brno VZ24 action.
    -26'' Douglas medium contour barrel.
-Bedded in a nice grade Turkish walnut stock.
-Chambered for the 30/06 Ackley Improved cartridge, which can fire standard 30.06 ammo or when handloded in 30.06AI it nears the 300 Win mag in performance. Uses standard 30/06 brass which is fireformed in the chamber when fired.
-Pretty shore its got a speedlock, cock on opening kit and a timney trigger (but my memory is fading on exact make of parts).
-Beautiful steel rings with windage adjustment.
-Will include scope pictured (8-32x44AO Tasco) which is surprisingly good.

This rifle in great condition, barrel near new, stock with only a few wear marks from hunting - but you have to look hard to find them. Excellent long range Tahr weapon, comes with 30/06 standard dies and an additional set of 30/06AI dies, some 30/06 Norma brass and some fire formed Federal and Remington brass.

    30.06 next to a 30.06AI handload

    Dies and brass

This rifle is beautifully put together as only Din Collins can do and itís a real shooter, thatís why Iíve hung onto it for so long. It will shoot factory blue box Federal ammo into ĺíí 5 shot groups. It easily shot MOA with the first AI loads I tried with softpoint hunting projectiles shooting off a rolled up swani, so I know it will do very very well with some load development.

Prefer pic up (Hamilton) but will post at your cost provided you get the police form sorted as FAL proof.

    $950ono

    Cheers

What a great buy!! If I hadnt spent my "hidden from the cook funds" already, I would grab it. Very nice rifle.
Barrel life would be awesome with the long neck and being .30 cal.

Don't do it,get rid of the barrel burner.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out." -

    Sweet rifle
Easy to see the difference between a REAL gunsmith and some backyarder that thinks he can drive a lathe
Barrel bore is best size on earth also

I've even trained this rifle to find Tahr, so all you need to do is take it for a walk and it should know what to do by now Although if you want it to find bigger ones, you may need to continue its training...

    I already am, but it simplifies my life. Choosing which rifle I take hunting reminds my wife of that scene from that move The Castle;

''Dad, do you have the keys for the Cortina, so I can move the Gemini, to get the Torana out of the way, so I can take the Commodore to work''....
