    How much they go for new @Fireflite ?
    Can get them around 1600 NZD new back at home (EU) but haven't looked into costs and time/pain involved with bringing one or two over.
    Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

    @Boar Freak not sure on a local price now as importer hasn't had full stocks for a couple of years +. I seem to recall $2400ish

    @Pointer wood has nice grain and quite dark. It's in the gun-porn-show-off-your-new-toys- forum pg328 I think. Couldn't link it!?

    Oh sorry I misunderstood. I thought you were next to the one in the store at Wanaka. Nice collection of FS CZs by the way

    7x64... Depending on the velocities you get out of it that'd be a great tops rifle. Pop a 2.5-10 or 2-12 on it and that'd be mint.

    I've actually got a CZ550 in full wood/9.3x62.

    Not intending to sell it but I thought you might appreciate a couple of points:

    - the stock is quite low. Fine with open sights but given the nature of bolt handle you will often need medium or high mounts to clear a scope which means you do not have great cheek weld. Ideally you would want to carve a little off the bolt handle and have the handle reblued (which is exactly what I did with my CZ 7.62x39). There is not a lot of choice however in low BRNO/CZ mounts - although conetrol bases and low rings would work superbly (I am currently using conetrol mediums with a leupold VX3 1.5-5x which gives me just enough bolt clearance (bolt unaltered) and cheek weld);

    - they are not a lightweight gun - but nor should they be in 9.3x62 (about 3.9kg with scope and relatively light control mounts - probably about perfect for the calibre). I would be careful buying one in a lighter calibre if you don't like heavy weight guns. I am a wimp on this front (normally hunt with Kimber Montana) so take my comments with a grain of salt;

    - trigger is superb;

    - the finish is good but not quite like the BRNO's of yesteryear. The floorplate is actually plastic which annoys me.

    If you are a hard-out hunter as opposed to collector I would probably re-barrel and restock a Remington 700 stainless to 35 Whelen ...

    Ben

    @Rock river arms hunter I've got a Z6 1.7-10 that I was thinking might be a good option

    @huntsika don't mide the weight as it's going to be a 1hr walk model. Longer walks in the bush I take an Kimber Adirondack so can appreciate where your coming from! The floor plate is a bummer but I'm looking working at getting one of these in
    Floor Plate CZ 524, CZ 537, CZ 550 (metal) | Find CZ Parts, Magazines And Accessories for a 550 I already have.
    When your ready to sell, flick me a PM
    Cheers

    STILL LOOKING!!
