I have to say, that while these devices have met with some mixed reviews around the world, I have one and personally really like it.
One feature that I think is somewhat underrated is the ability to send and receive text to the world at large from anywhere in the bush or anywhere in the world for that matter. Quite a comfort to family and friends.......even if it is your first time in the bush for a year and the content of the message is "What bucket size did you want again?" You have to love 'her indoors'

Anyway, personally I think they are well worth the coin.

    My 2 cents worth.

    Cheers

A plb comes first as it a true emergency hope you never need. But in the much more likely event you have a non emergency event or delay these inreachs are very good. It can be the difference in having search and rescue called if you simply shot a stag late on your last day and couldn't make it out in time or weather packed in and you get stuck in a hut etc.
