I need one of these things, so can you down load maps, track your walks and all that kind of chit, what doesn't it have that others have that would be useful?
Hi Norwest, Yes you can and you probably do need one. Makes life a bit more predictable when your inner compass is outright bloody lying to you.
You can download maps, mark your tracks & waypoints and wirelessy upload your mates secret spots if he has one.... lol. I've been using map toaster, If I could work out how to load up the maps onto the micro SD card I'd
add it to the package. ( help - tech people please advise )
I have an Oregon 300c and love it.
It has preloaded marine charts, and I have downloaded free driving maps and topomaps onto it, as well as some aerial photos and LINZ topomaps tiles.
I can save a waypoint for where I'm standing, or where I see something interesting on a map or Google earth (has helped me locate quite a few clearings).
I have it set to record my trail while I'm hunting, which I can save and download into various mapping programs.
I save a waypoint every time I encounter a deer, and over time this has shown that often I will come across deer within 50m or so of where I found them before.
A set of batteries lasts a full 8-10 hour day, and I always carry spare batteries, and a compass!
GSP Hunter I think in order to sell this you need to find a GPS Hunter![]()
Wha wha what!! bloody hell I just got back to the computer.
