Gongs/plates for up to .308 ish 20-600m ish

Hey team, as per title. Just after some stuff to mostly shoot at the range out to 100m, and maybe push out to about 600m/ish.

    Palmy Area.

Not a bad price really. Wonder how well the stand up to the large cals?

@Hunter_killer I can get you 300 x 300 square AR 500 10 mm. Can pick up from Marton.

find some engineering company that laser cuts steel. Take your design , get them to cut it.

Carac Couplings in Eltham in Taranaki have the supposedly the best laser gear in the country, and give really good service

As muzza said, ask for Bisalloy 500 or wear plate 500. This is the NZ Designation for AR-500 most engineering shop won't know what you are talking about if you ask for AR-500.

Anything 400 and up will be fine tho the harder the better.
Hardness resists speed......super hotrod calibers shooting lightweights at mega speed melt and etch the surface....hardness is best to resist this....308 doesn't fit in this category.
Then you have mass....big guns shooting heavy hard projectiles and the only thing to stop them damaging plates is thickness.
308 doesn't really fit this category either so Id go 10-12mm 400-500 and not shoot it close.

That plate I bought to the second toby shoot for the standing 300 was smoked all day by everything up to 50 cal at 300. The only thing to scratch the surface was my 308 at 100 with 130 barnes doing 3000+

I shoot my ones at 50 metres with 300 WSM and they don't scratch it. 10mm will be heaps.
.223 full metal jacket can be the best gong wreckers funnily enough.
