    H&K G3 ECAT

After one of these for service rifle, probably very unlikely someone here will sell theirs but if anyone knows where I could find one that would be awesome.

I saw a very nice one at Auckland NZDA range a month back, brought in to NZ before Aramoana as full auto, but modified to remove the fun switch.
Not for sale though, but very nice all the same.

I'm picking that finding an ECAT one will be quite rare perhaps...

They're out there, but you see C-Cat G3s up for sale more often than E-cat.

A cheaper, faster option maybe to import a PTR91 from the US? PTR Industries

Thanks @res will be in touch if I find one. Would that mount fit the civilian version of the G3? HK41.

I would be very suprized if it didnt, any deal could always be reliant on it actually fitting

Could be an option and then convert to E but problem is paying machine gun prices + cost to change the auto-sear.

I thought once on C it stays on C? No converting back to E? Happy to be proven wrong though

Would this be a realistic option? What would the likely end cost be?

Lets say USD$999 for the rifle, USD$500 for Export Agent/Permit and USD$130 for shipping - thats USD$1629 = NZD$2360. There'd be GST and Duty on top of that once it got here, but you'd still be under NZD$3k, and I don't think you'd find an E-Cat G3 here for sale under NZD$2500...?

All things going well, if you put your import permit in now you could have a PTR 91 in your hands in four months - or you could spend the next four years looking for a G3 here.....
