With the scarcity of people wanting to ship those batteries from overseas at the moment you could just about ask anything. But looking at treademe prices I'd say $65 for the set up plus $10 packaging and postage would be a reasonably good deal. They are the same as the headlamps that I use.

Can't believe they are not both long gone. Think my kiwi understatement about a 'reasonable deal' might have been a bit too subtle.

They are good. Turn a battery around when its in your pack. They have a naughty habit of turning on and will burn through stuff.

Don't do this! The batteries are in parallel and you will be causing a short circuit with low internal resistance cells. The protection circuit in most cells should protect them, but not a good idea. Cut out an appropriate size piece of plastic, with a tab you can grab, from a shirt box or whatever and slip it in the negative end.

That's a good idea But in any event, if you don't do something you do risk them turning on. As I said, they are a good torch but this needs to be watched for. I actually took my batteries right out and popped them in when I needed it. I only thought of turning one around when I wrote that - which turned out to be a silly idea.

If you want a good fright go onto youtube and find a video that shows what would happen. Things get very warm.

I have the same headlight and on Sunday it turned on while in my pack, it was warm but I don't think it would burn any thing.
