    Hilux part

This is a long shot but here goes, driving home the other night and heard a thud under my bonnet, didnt think much of it but by the time I got home my lights were really dim. Looked under the bonnet in the morning and hello my alternator/aircon belt had come off. Got a new one and went to put it in today and noticed why it had come off - the pulley on the alternator had gone awol.... So im looking for just the pulley off a kun26 hilux alternator or hiace, have trawled trademe and all I can find is complete alternators. Anyone...???

You might be better of replacing the complete alternator, if the pulley has been loose it may have damaged the pulley shaft, so a new pulley may not seat properly. If the shaft is fine then ignore my ramblings. :-)

as roktoy said check the shaft, if its ok then try asking some auto sparkies they are bound to throw stuffed ones out in the scrap bin when they are beond repair, we have a few aold alternators in the bin at work but i would need a sample to try and match it.... which is down the road somewhere..

Ha. Meanwhile...... down the road..... some poor bugger is looking for a new radiator because an Alternator pulley flicked up off the road and went clean through it.

Pretty sure they run a clutch pulley, which you should be able to buy or find in scrap pile as said above
Also check your idler as this is what normally falls to bits

You will require the SST to fit a new over-run pulley.

You will need a special tool to fit the replacement pulley . I have found the pulley fails around 500000k and then every 100 to 150k thereafter. I have fitted aftermarket alternators available from several suppliers but the engine management light then comes on with(still charges ok) an alternator fault code.
