Do you mean not the mini action or you don't want the 20" pencil barrel?

    Hi William
I'm refering to the mod 1500 - the so called medium action.

On arrival in NZ I noticed that the actions on most Howas look "different". It turns out that the guys over here does not like heavy weapons and thus the lightweight version is sold in NZ.

In SA you very rarely come across the lightweight action.

Seems like the action as I know it is refered to as the Standard.

I do not want the mini version just yet, but will at a later stage(for my boy).

    I'll include two photos.

The areas where material was removed to shed weight can be seen on the sides of the action.

Its the same action, one has just been milled to remove some weight.

I knew what you mean, the non cut away lightened medium actions can be found with the wetherby Vanguard brand. I have and have had both actions. If you don't mind me asking why the desire for the full weight for sure a small calibre? You can buy the barreled action in 204 with the lightened action from the supplier.

Sorry William I misunderstood. Just personal taste. I've had several Howas and the lightweight just never cought on to me.

Sourfully the 204 has been discontinued.

Fair enough, I didn't realize they stopped the 204. I have a long action heavy in 7mmRM and I can see where you are coming from. Also it only sheds a few grams for the trouble. But Yes then the Vanguard has the action your after, same rife really

If 204 is your flavour, a mate has a Savage for sale, he's selling all his guns. Give me a yell and I'll get you some pictures

I know there’s definitely one of what you are looking for in 204 because I use to own it, sold it a couple of years ago, but know where there’s a new unfired tikka t3 in 204 the owner may sell.
