    Husqvarna 1600 30-06

    I have a few opportunities to shoot turkeys, peacocks and other smaller game, which unfortunately this rifle isnít suited to (I want to keep the meat!)

    Itís a beautiful classic rifle, the original ďlight weightĒ bolt action. Iím a bit of a girlís blouse when it comes to recoil, but I find this rifle more than manageable and very enjoyable to shoot.

    Bluing is thin in places but ok. Wood is in good condition, the odd mark as would be expected but overall good.

    The bore is very good, clean with sharp rifling.

    Comes with period weaver 1Ē rings, iron sights in tact too.

    This was the pick of the bunch from four identical 1600 30-06ís that Graeme Champion (CAC) imported.

    After $900.

    I would agree. A very nice piece of kit. Husky make a much better rifle than anything else you can get now for $900. Tis the season for paying off the visa that broke at christmas.....

    Quick 10c/Promo

    Mil spec/factory speaking;

    This is an old school .308 with a more manly punch in the shoulder and a long action. On this level, the rounds perform almost the same and sadly ď30.06Ē just means more weight, bigger rounds.

    In saying this, if you donít have a .308 hunting rifle/have been considering one, this could be the rifle for you.
    30.06 will give you a lot more loading options, which may increase your velocity/range/stopping power (depending on your recipe). One downfall of the 30.06 for some (if you are less adventurous) is that a .308 likely has more ďoff the shelfĒ options.

    So if you are a round tinkerer, or you are just after something a little different, yet reliable... then I believe you are looking in the right place.
    Good luck!

    I have the same model and can attest that they are superb hunting rifles. Mine runs 1 moa with both Federal and Winchester 150 grain factory ammo.

    Hmm I want this, timing isn’t quite right. If it’s still around in 3-4 months I’ll be pretty keen. As the guys have mentioned it’s been expensive, taking the kids on camping trips and I have a few vehicles needing some general repairs so funds are allocated elsewhere at the moment

    I’m not going to be offering it for much longer, as if I can’t sell it the deal with the rifle I’m buying will probably fall through.
