Question ISO: Sako L579 Rings or Mounts

Recently got an older Sako L579 .308, and am having trouble finding any mounts to fit the older sako tail. Does anyone have some 1" old sako rings they would be willing to sell? TIA.

Any Sako Optilocks etc should fit, standard Sako dovetails on L579, certainly on mine…

Are you using the 1pc or the 2pc?

Will definitely have to try them again, might be a case of the dovetails being worn down or altered before i got it hmmmmm...

One piece, on both L579 and A1..also have Leupold rings but from memory they don’t have the pin that prevents forward movement. The low Optilovks do up to 40mm objective comfortably.

Cannot see how the dovetails would be worn. If you want to have your old L579 in keeping with its classic age keep searching for the old style windage adjustable rings. They are starting to get rare though. Optilocks can also be adjusted for windage at any rate.

I have always gone 2 piece.

I did have a set of Burris tapered dove tail rings for a while but my Forester said nah piss off, you don't match my nice bluing. Not familiar with the Leupold rings.
